When I first had the chance to view this video, I found painful energies of my childhood brought up for the deepest cleansing and healing. As Matt explains in his video, despite the many disagreements from viewers on the terminology of twin flames and soul mates, I was coming into acceptance and healing of a series of twin flame relationships. As an empathic, sensitive soul, I spent the first twenty years of my life completely afraid of life, confused by a sense of spiritual co-dependency upon the recognition of others. I felt abandoned, teased, taunted, and emotionally abused by my family, friends, and community, even despite the immense outpouring of love from them I felt at times. I felt responsible for the pain and trauma that prevented those around me from loving themselves, and I identified as the reason they were unable to share this love unto their heart’s deepest innocence. I felt that if I could only become the person with whom they were longing to connect, somehow I would instantly heal their pain. Through endless confusion and frustration, I came to realize that the person, whether in friendship, life partnership, or familial relation, is our own love. At it's core, I’ve not felt worthy of my own love unless others were first to recognize me or validate my beliefs. Twin flame relationships are meant to bring up the parts of our self that feel unworthy of our own love, as manifested in the behavior of others. Each character in this divine play, especially those with whom we hold soul contracts, acts out the characteristics of self denial that we most often empath as our own in order to truly fulfill their portion of being the catalyst of our highest evolution.
Matt’s teaching clarifies that the purpose of such characters and behaviors is to illuminate the light of divinity within our own heart. Most integrally, we feel neglected and rejected as life is trying to push us towards realizing that our own self-love is the ultimate realization in each of these relationships, no matter how unrelenting in their stagnation, or deeply upsetting they can be. Instead of being pushed away, we are being pushed to focus within.
“You attract what you judge, until you no longer judge what you attract.” — Matt Kahn
The behaviors and energies we identify as obstacles to our spiritual evolution, ironically, are the most profound opportunities to grow and thrive. Against all odds, the judgments we hold against each other show us that there is only more love to be shown to all those with whom we interact. The divine role of judgment is that our judgments truly activate our deepest intuitive wisdom. Frustration is the unraveling of the assumption that we are unworthy of our most powerful love. In my own experience, I’ve been shown recognition as being a wise, light beacon from those closest to me. Yet, I’ve felt unworthy of my own love, even when I share my deepest realization and awakening. Not only does the love being shared not emanate from my own heart, but I’ve found that no matter how deeply moved I am by the beauty of love and light, those not fully integrating this information have yet to arrive at the same or different conclusion through in their own experience. I’ve never felt fully honored for my divinity by those with whom I hold soul contracts, as they claim that I am being impractical in most of my aspiration, and would rather identify with the visceral joy and calm that radiates from my heart. For many years, I felt that sharing my deepest truth with my parents, for example, only could come out when they bathing me in love. When in fact, the deepest truth I had to express is my own self love when I felt berated, denied, and upset by their lack of love. Coming into this truth has allowed me to move from judgment of their own journey, and feeling berated, to absolute liberation through the recognition of how brilliantly I have navigated the waters of darkness as the lighthouse of my highest destiny.
As we progress into healing the twin flame relationships that can evoke such intense emotion, we move into the stage of becoming our own soulmate. Matt’s teaching explains that the highest light of our destiny is the realization of our deepest self love in the face of our greatest fear. Often, the themes that twin flames bring out are those of our childhood that we’ve yet to heal and integrate. According to the research of Dr. Gregg Braden, our brain is in an utter state of absorption from ages 0 to 6. In order to become the light bearers of our highest consciousness, we must navigate through the paradigm we seek to transform. Healing the heart of hurt is the process of reawakening these memories and offering ourselves unconditional love, whether or not we know how to do so. I was able to make huge strides in my own experience by simply honoring my pain through honesty, realizing that majority of my consternation was the avoidance of very real emotion I had yet to honestly address. Growing into honoring my divinity, through any means I’ve found practical and peaceful, opened my heart to realizing the divine perfection of every experience. Every bit of rejection revealed a deeper, more integral part of my heart yearning for expression. Every fear illuminated the gravity of what my love had survived, and would continue to survive. When I am angry, I am allowing the intensity of others self denial to act as a permission slip for repressing my enthusiasm. Coming to wholeness involved using every opportunity where I felt anger as target practice for my own self love. For years, I matched my father’s energy in response to his anger, until I realized he only asked for my love in turn. All I had to do was slow my breathing, and speak the magic words of “I love you”, and all friction and fear melted into freedom. For every experience of rejection, the call of the light warrior is to move deeper into self love. As we become our own twin flame, the universe recognizes that we are now in charge of our highest growth and have laid the framework for allowing our highest potential to move into form. Thus, as we mature into the glory, the heaven of loving our heart unconditionally, we become the soulmate that every twin flame sought for us to realize within ourselves. We unravel the illusion that our happiness and fulfillment lies in another persons ability to love the parts of ourselves that only the most potent form of self love can bring to utter and complete wholeness. It is then that we stop manifesting twin flame relationships that constantly challenge and unearth the dormant parts of our consciousness, as we have taken charge of that process, which is actually one of the most clear signs of emotional and spiritual maturity. It is a sign to the universe that our development can occur within, without life having to push us away so we can ultimately realize that only being within will fulfill our deepest desire for connection.
“The truth is, life is putting you through all of this, because a real relationship that involves energetic harmony, mental harmony, intimate physical harmony, you have to be prepared for that, you have to come into your highest wisdom and perfection, alignment, so you can be your best self, the ever fulfilling nature of your immaculate potential, that can actually maturely dance with the highest potential of another without projections, imbalance, co-dependecy, with neither attachment nor an aversion to commitment,”
— Matt Kahn
And only the most brilliant ray of self-love, untouchable in its divine wisdom and perfection, so powerful as to transmute all boundaries of separation, can open the door to your highest destiny and manifest for you the excellency, the ecstasy of a true soulmate relationship, within and throughout every cell of our being. That is true love at its highest level of completion. As the universe offers unconditional love to all its divine expressions, so too do we as a conduit of infinity offer unconditional love to ourselves as the ceaseless array of expressions of life we have come to utterly and completely transform for the well being of all.
